Aptar Pharma, the worldwide leader in developing and manufacturing spray and dispensing systems for the consumer healthcare industries, has introduced its new child resistant technology for nasal spray pumps. Using an established childproof squeeze and turn mechanism, the feature is simple and intuitive, providing a perfect balance between child resistant and senior friendly.
Aptar Pharma developed the child resistant/senior friendly (CR/SF) feature for its Classic Line of spray pumps, allowing pharmaceutical marketers to comply with Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) requirements for child resistant nasal sprays.
Tested according to US16 CFR1700.20, this product will be commercially available during the first quarter of 2015 to replace existing formats within the timeline given by CPSC for the U.S. market.
Aptar Pharma’s child resistant/senior friendly feature has no impact on spray performance or delivered dose and does not cause compatibility issues. Nasal spray pumps with this CR/SF features can be easily handled on established filling lines.
The technology was introduced during CPhI Paris, the largest worldwide Pharma exhibition. Konrad Pfitzer, Head of Product Management, Aptar Pharma, provided an in-depth lecture on the design features of this new technology.
