Aptar Pharma’s continuous commitment to supporting Wound Care specialists is improving the effectiveness, safety and convenience of wound treatments.
Dr. Stefan Hellbardt of Aptar Pharma has conducted research into low-pressure wound instillation methods and created a scientific poster presentation on the findings.
Presented at the recent Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) in Las Vegas, the poster presentation detailed Aptar Pharma’s simple approach to compare marketed wound wash products with literature-recommended syringe and needle instillation.
The testing of different Wound Wash products using Bag-on-Valve (BOV) technology revealed considerable differences in performance parameters. The results showed variations in the maximum impact force, the change of impact force over time and the total length of use before the product was emptied.
Wound Care specialists can utilize Aptar Pharma’s science-based approach to gain further understanding of the diverse range of existing products available on the market, and judge which is suitable for their application based on their experience.
SAWC took place Oct. 20-22, 2017, in Las Vegas. Over 1,300 Wound Care specialists attended to learn about the latest innovations, as well as the vital role of emerging therapies in chronic wound care and prevention.
